Retail Signs That Sell
Even though the world has advanced in science and technology, there are some things to which we cling to that are traditional and old-fashioned. The retail signs are one such example. A retail sign can make the customer more inclined to buy the products in your store. It is surprising to see that most of the shop owners do not take care to make their retail signs more impressive and stylish. They just consider it as ordinary sign.
A sign is a very important thing for your store. It conveys everything about the store from name and promotions to pricing and product information. A professional retail signs will attract more customers if it has the correct information written in the correct manner, whereas an unprofessional signage may confuse your customer and turn them away from the store. There can be many mistakes, like incorrect spellings, misleading information and too many retail signs. So here are some tips for an effective signage.
The first tip would be quality production. The sign you want to put may not require you to spend a lot of money on it, rather you can get inexpensive retail signs, but mind that they are professional and attractive. As an exterior sign would a fairly large investment, it would be wise to get one which has a long life span so that you won't have to change the retail signs frequently. If you are producing signs on your own then it would be better to produce them with a computer rather than with handwritten messages. Take the computer file to a print shop if your printer or paper is not of high quality.
The color theme is important. It should be made as simple as possible. A two or three color theme would be appropriate, with a color each for background, text and highlighting the message. Don't use a combination of the same colors for all three areas. Choose the color so that the message can be read easily rather than having to strain your eyes to get the message. Be careful with combinations such as yellow/green or orange/pink/red or green/blue as these colors require more work to get them legible.
Make a sign which is easy to read. Don't make the sign so crowded that you feel dizzy just seeing so many characters in one space. It puts off the customers, so go for signs which are simple, with one headline, a main text and some bulletin points. This would be sufficient to attract the customer.
Give a clear and simple message. Don't try to describe the whole scheme in a single sign. A simple message, even with a small touch of mystery will attract customers to your shop as they would want to know more about the product.
Place the sign where the people can see it. People would be walking on the street and your sign should catch their attention if you want them to come inside. So place it where it commands their attention. The simpler you make the retail signs, the better it would be and more attractive.
