There are many methods to get rid of lice one being white vinegar is the oldest methods to get rid of them you can put white vinegar and keep it for a few minutes and then brush it of with the help of a comb which is available especially to brush out combs. There are many medical treatments like homeopathy to get rid of lice. The most recent and the newly introduced is Medikar oil and shampoo which is neem based and is very a very effective remedy of getting rid of lice but you should make sure that these chemical based shampoos don't kill the lice so you have to make sure that you comb them or brush them off. Olive oil and mayonese is also a very effective measure in order to get rid of lice. These chemical treatments to treat lice are much more effective than the natural remedies.

There are many home remedies to treat lice. If at some point of time it becomes very difficult to get rid of these lice then you can always cut your hair short which in turn results in decrease in temperature of the scalp then it becomes easier for you to get rid of them. You can also get rid of them manually if they are only a few which involves oiling your hair or wetting them and using the comb which is specially designed to get rid of lice. Malathion is said to be the most effective remedies to get rid of lice but it is necessary that you keep it for atleast 8 to 10 hours before you brush or comb your hair and then wash.
